Arrested Development Movie Is Moving Forward

Dreams DO come true. Not only have we had a new season of “Arrested Development” but we are also getting a feature film and I think my life is complete.  Mitch Hurwitz recently did an interview with Rolling Stone where he explained that he was indeed working on the movie and that everyone involved was excited.

“I’m working on the movie right now,” the show’s creator tells Rolling Stone. “I can’t get into much more detail because I don’t want to scare anybody off. I don’t want to be presumptuous about it. I don’t own the property outright – it’s a 20th Century Fox property. But everybody seems really into it and really eager to make a movie.”

As fans could have predicted, the show and movie’s timing can be difficult to work around when all the actors are busy doing other major films and shows.

“A TV season is a six-month commitment,” he says. “But I think it would be very doable to get them together for four or five weeks to make a movie.”

It is important to note that the “Arrested Development” film hasn’t actually been greenlit yet so Hurwitz is remaining mum on any details. Too late Mitch, we are all too excited to be let down again.

“I’m hoping it happens as soon as possible,” he says. “But I want to be very careful about not putting out false information. I want to get a time and tell everybody when it’s happening and not play with people. Right now, I’m trying to do something else for Netflix and a movie project and things. I’m always sort of superstitious about talking about this stuff before it happens. It’s the best way to guarantee it doesn’t happen.”

Currently, you can continue binge-watching seasons 1 – 4 on Netflix as we wait for either another season or the movie to begin production. (And also can I say that I absolutely love Maeby’s hair in season 4. I mean it is gorgeous, amiright?)
